I haven't heard of head scraping on the R800 and people use a lot thicker paper than Epson HW Matte. It's hard to visualize what you mean by 3/8 inch scrapes but I suspect that you are getting some banding or roller wheel scrapes. In the email you sent me you used 1440 resolution. The R800 is best at 2880 dpi and that is what all the K7 profiles are designed for. The other issue is that the print top and bottom areas are always more prone to banding.
