hello,
spend your 50$ don't be afraid !!!
it's a very cheap expense compare to the real B&W prints I got without these greenish or Magenta metamerism I had before!
go to :
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/QuadtoneRIP/files/Curves/R800%20and%20R1800/
and try one of the proposed curves, depending of your duo "inks & paper"
If you have different inks, it's not so difficult to tune up a specific curves for your "duo"
it's works great ! thanks to paul and roy !
enjoy now a real B&W world !

I have also just bought an R1800 and find that BW prints have a
distinct greenish colour cast, inks and paper are genuine epson .
Is it likely that using Quadtone will fix this or does the problem lie
with the ink set?
I'm a bit reluctant to spend $50 if there is no improvement in this
respect.
BTW Have nice prints with QTR
don't forget "Life is just what we are looking for..."
R1800 mostly in B&W (80%)
Lyson Inks R8
