I don't mean to sound flippant but I really wonder why some of you peeps endure all of this agony -- it sounds like rocket science going on just to make black and white pictures. If all of this hoop-jumping is fun then never mind -- but I'm pretty sure that as I read between the lines (of this posting and others) I seem see lots of angst and FUD. I get beautiful prints using ABW mode and I can focus on making pictures, not on science. Even if it is meant buying a new printer that has ABW mode or even one of the new HP's, it's got to be better then sweating all of these meticulously complicated details.
