This forum is full of excellent advise and the expertise is clearly evident, but in reading through dozens (or hundreds) of messages on calibration, the PRINTFIX PRO 225 chart and several other calibration greyscale images, I'll be honest and say I'm more knowledgeable, but probably less able -- probably me. I've always easily confused by details ;-) Is there a very high level check list that any of you would recommend that is not so much about details, but a high level checklist that I could use to organize the many thoughts/approaches that have been described in this form to get the best possible calibration for Black/White dedicated printing? I've got a number of excellent, but complex images that I just don't believe I am getting on paper as good as they could be. Probably Dmax and separations could all be better. My environment is: OS: Windows Vista APPS: Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom CALIBRATION: Spyder2 PRO w/PRINTFIX Pro RIP: QTR PRINTER: Epson R1800 INK: K7 ink (single tone) PAPER: Primarily Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Brt Wht and Bradford Brt or Nat Wht BTW - I've ordered Amadou's book based on the feedback in this forum. Thanks!
