I am trying out K6 inks in my R300 to see if I can dedicate it to a b/w only printer. The paper I prefer with piezo K6 inks is Hanhnemuehle Museum Etching (350 gsm). The printer prints fine on Epson Enhanced Matte, but it won't load Museum Etching no matter what I do. As I am using QTR, I am wondering how the RIP communicates the paper thickness to the printer. Obviously, using the Epson driver, I select matte heavyweight paper. In QTRgui, I select matte paper, but it does not load. There does not seem to be any switch on the printer to correct manually for paper height and I have read and re-read the incredibly vahue manual that suggests Epson papers and inks only of course. Can someone please provide a solution, information, or a link that may solve my problem. I would hate to throw out the printer, which is really only good for printing on CDs. I'm hoping to create prints of the same quality as using my R2400 with K7 inks. Is this just fanciful thinking? If so, which inexpensive printer could I dedicate to a b/w-only printer with K6/K-7 inks with minimal clogging problems? Thank you for your input. Paul
