QTR-Quadtone RIP

I have a question about the above document which is for download on
the QTR website: I understand everything until it reaches the
linearizing part. I have printed the random 4X21 stepwedge and
measured it and dragged it on the QTR linearize data. That I
understand. But then? What do I do with this data? The documents
reads: 'To use this feature, simply create the ink description file,
doing the partitioning.'
And then I have to make a 21 stepwedge and measure that one. But what
about the 4X21 stepwedge? What to do with that linearization info.
I hope someone can help me here,
