Epson R800 and R1800 preparation for using Eboni inks

2007-09-29 by johncjmd

I did RTFM, and used flush carts in my R800. I bumbled through, after
realizing I hadn't removed the seals and today found what seem like
applicable instructions on the Pizeography web site. I am getting
what I feel are really good all black ink prints scans of 30 year old
6x7 negatives. Have just used the built in Epson enhanced matte paper
profile, and have not yet tackled using my EyeOne to tweak the curves.
My question is this: It seems wasteful and is very costly to print
multiple cleaning cycles using all the colors to flush and then
restart with the 3 Eboni carts. Does anyone have a way and/or
possibly a TIF to
just flush and recharge the Photo Black, Matte Black, and Glop so as
not to waste all that color ink? And what about the Glop? I am awaiting
delivery of a R1800, which I wished I had bought in the first place.
But now I plan to use one printer for dedicated B&W and the other for
glossy color and B&W printing. Which might be better for those specific
applications? Any answers, suggestions, or other encouragement will
be greatly appreciated. Lots of good answers so far from members of
this group.
