In the printing options, there is a pull-down menu for applying different dither algorithms (I assume these are applied during printing). The guide for Quadtone says that there is really no dicernable difference between these so the author leaves it at the default which I think is called "ordered." I'm wondering if any of you can tell me what this option is for, what the differences are, and if they've found there to be a difference in selecting different algorithms. I'm printing, using my Epson 2400, for a specific purpose: printing on transparency film at 720 DPI, making digital "positives" for exposing etching plates. I tried a few of these different algorithms and at least in one case--with the second option, Adaptive Hybrid--I got banding in the print, though this could be because of the printer as well. Any info. here would be helpful. Best, David.
