I generally print on Rag paper and have had great results with QT RIP. However, for this one job, I had to convert over to PK ink and run a B&W 30x45 print on Luster Photo Paper. There are some areas where the black ink is so heavy, that it comes off of the printer with a glossy look. It dried over night, but there is absolutely no detail at all; at least from the amount of detail that I'm seeing on my monitor. The curve setting in QT says "UC-NoK-EPhotoPaper-neutral". Since all the other curves look like they have to do with MK inks, I'm wondering if that's the right setting to be using? It's the only Photo Paper setting that I see. Also, I'm using Perceptual with Black Point Compensation as per the QT tutorial. My work-around for the moment is to go in to CS3 and use the shadow/highlight control to open up the shadows by about 15%. That seems to help, but I still think it can be better... Would limiting the ink do anything to help this? Thanks.
