ink density calibration ut7

2008-01-06 by ampes2008

Good day everybody,

My apologies if the answer to these questions have appeared somewhere
in the postings; I did do a search so please humour this newbie with a
reply.

I just installed QTR and a UT& inkset on an Epson 2200. I am following
the instructions in the QTR manual and printed an inkseparation page.

For determining the percentage of black to create 100% light black I
will use an old Barbieri densitometer I have. I am a bit puzzled
though about the remarks that for Ultrachrome inks you only have to do
this for black/light black but that for Quadtone inks you need to
repeat it for each process. Does this also apply to UT7 inksets? If
so, how do I go about? Compare light magenta position to magenta
position and then convert to a density relative to black ? Comparing
densities of the magentas is not a problem, but how would I convert to
a density relative to black?

Something else I will be trying Fibaprint Gloss with PK and GLOP in
yellow position. Would anybody have a curve that I can use as a
starting point?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Peter
