Hi all! I am new to the QTR. Therefore I have several (or a lot of) questions. I have read the manual und I have searched already this groups and the Internet, but I found nothing that answered my question(s). Perhaps somebody here is so kind to help me. I am using since 3 years a EPSON 2100 with CarboPrint inks from the German company MONOCHROM and the Hahnemühle PhotoRag-paper (HPR). But this became to expensive and there was no CFS for this inks so I stopped using them. Here are my questions: 1.) Why are there no curves for HPR in the 2100 settings? Or in the other way: Why don´t all printers have the same amount of curves? 2.) I found curves named UC*, UCmk* and UCpk* in the settings for the 2100. "Mk" is matte black and "pk" is photo black. Does it means I can use matte black ink OR photo black ink for a curve named UC*? 3.) What can I achieve with 3 curves? Will the blending be more smooth? For example I used the UCmk-EEnhMatte-cool-curve with 75% and the UCmk-EEnhMatte-warm-curve with 25% using HPR-paper. What will happen if I use cool 75%, 15% neutral and 10% warm? 4.) I am testing all the new and fine barite and barite-like papers (Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta, Harmann FB, etc.) with the pb ink. But even with a complete 100% cool-curve all these papers have a more or less brown tone/touch. Did somebody experience the same? Thanks a lot for your answers! CU Peter
