David, Thank you!! The mystery is solved. I find that what's required to use the 21x4 random patches are 1. Version 2.5 of Create-ICC (I used 2.5.1.0). My 2.4.3 version doesn't work for the random patches with any file format I've tried. Note that the date/time stamp is the same, but the program size is different; 2.5 is a different program from 2.4. 2. A tab delimited file, like the one in David's post. Playing with Spyder3Print, I checked "QTR Format Override" and "CreateICC" which gives a different format that happens to work with the not random 21 step file. In Spyder3Print, checking "Lab" and "Include Line Numbers" produces a tab delimited file that looks like the one David posted and works. The Eye One's options and defaults are surely different. Also, I have found that it doesn't matter whether the patches are read down-then-across or across-then-down.
