Harry, I may have missed responses to your query about help with your ceramic project. Do you have a colorimeter? Eye One or color vision? Short of that, are you imbedding an ink limited scale onto your media to transfer with and tracking relative density? Suck as too darn dark, way too darn dark, lost detail in high light etc? There are several ways to make digital negs for alternative printing and that might be a good way to go. Are you having issues with pooling or puddleling preventing detail? Dear QTR Group: I produce kiln fired photoceramics by printing a home-brewed digital fluid onto water slide decal paper, transferring the decal to porcelain, tile, glass or porcelanized steel and firing at 1100 to 1300 degrees F to produce a really long lasting image. I am printing with an Epson 1280 using only one cartridge in the black position. After watching this group, and finding a two channel write-up by C. Jones, I would like to try to better control my results as there is tremendous dot gain both at the printing and the firing stage. My trials with the only two curve program in 1280 set up is not encouraging. Another reason to learn to work with one or two cartridge positions is to access other operational channels when I block up the black position. Perhaps a two channel printing may give more low contrast detail in the lighter portions of an image. I have failed to master creation of new usable curves using QTR as my experience in digital reprogramming is less than zero. Is there a class or mentor that can get me started in QTR so I may improve my photoceramic images? Thanks for any help, Harry L. Burnett, Jr. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
