QTR-Quadtone RIP

I imagine that some of us have gotten the notion that we can just press a a button and 'voila' !  a great print...  not so !  That would be akin to going into a darkroom, throwing in a neg, zapping it with some light, a dip in the soup and instant success. 


I have been working with my new R1800 for about a 2 weeks now and am just starting to get a handle on it. Previously I printed BO on a 890 (1280) and had relatively easy results. This carbon ink seems a bit more difficult but, I must say that the combination of carbon and the smaller 'dot' size is becoming appealing. I could swap out to a R2400 which would probably be easier,but I think that the prints are a bit compromised with the whites being covered over so to speak.

Good luck and don't give up...   if it were that easy it might not be as rewarding.
