QTR-Quadtone RIP

I have just started printing with an Epson 4880. Early tests suggest that  
the QTR still yields noticeably better results than Epson's improved drivers for 
 black-and-white.
 
But I am encountering one problem: There is a slight green tint in my  
darkest black background. I've checked to make sure that I converted the image  to 
grayscale, but it is still there.
 
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
