Re: Installing QTR on MAC Tiger OSX

Hi Bob,

I just wanted to add a few tips/notes, that might make it a little
easier.

When you installed QTR, the installation software was located in what
is known as a disk image. If you didn't eject it yet (the disk
image), it should still be on the desktop or in the finder window and
should be labeled QTRIP2.2 or something similar to that and it can be
accessed by double clicking. If it did get ejected, locate the file
you downloaded, I think it's called QuadToneRIP2.2.0.dmg, anyway it's
the file you downloaded that ends in dmg (disk image), and double
click it, that will mount the disk image again. This is where you're
going to find the Profiles folder mentioned by Scott.

In your case, open the 2200-UC folder, and you should see a file
called Install2200 (you can always read the ReadMe2200 file for more
info). Double clicking this file will run the installer script. And,
as Scott described, this will both install the curves for the
ink/printer and will also install the printer.

I'm using Photoshop CS2 so my Print with Preview settings are a
little bit different, let me know if that's what you're working with,
otherwise use Scott's settings.

In the print driver window, you'll select the printer, most likely
called Quad2200. once you've done this, make sure that the Presets
menu bar is set to Standard, then under that you should see a menu bar
with Copies & Pages. Click on this and scroll down to and select
QuadTone RIP. This will display the QTR settings. At this point the
settings are pretty self explanatory. Once you've set them how you
want, just click print and everything should work fine.
