muddy prints with QTR

2008-09-26 by Edson Françozo

Sorry if this subject has already been brought forth here before. I
did search past archives but could not find any information related to
the problem I have.

I have been trying my hand with QTR lately. I was able to successfully
print some images on both EEM and Hanehmule Photorag some time ago,
while using version 2.6.0 of QTR. After I upgraded to version 2.6.1,
however, I started getting muddy, flat prints. No matter which
printing model I choose, or which brand of paper I choose, I always
get the very same muddy looking print. Right-clicking on the Curve
drop down list results in the same ink curve being displayed, no matter
which paper profile I choose. I reinstalled QTR several times, and
always get the same results.

Just to be sure I furnish all the relevant info: (1) I have
successfully run QTR on 64-bit Vista for several months now and, up to
the present, nothing wrong happened. (2)Also, when I print from CS3,
using Paul Roarks profiles for the R220 (the same printer which QTR
seems to have problems with ), everything goes fine and the print
comes out with the looks I intend it to have - i.e. it does not seem
to be an issue with the print head parking pad.

Does anyone have a clue as to where the fault is, and how to restore
QTR back to its original smooth high-quality printing behavior?
