Joost Ok. I admit I was not clear with my question- Sorry I am on a PC, with Windows, Epson 2200 printer and Ultrachrome inks. Yes, I am using Tom Moore's User Guide and I am at the first step of "Characterizing The Inks -- Hardware Ink Limit Calibration". I printed the Ink Separation Test Page as instructed in his guide and then Iooked at the various lines - black, light black and the 5 color lines to determine the patch where the paper is covered with all the inks. My question is -- Do I just look at the black and light black lines OR do I also look at the 5 color lines? I think the answer is ---look at just the black and light black lines to pick a % value for the next step. Hope this is clear. Thanks for your help. Are you following Tom Moore's manual? If not, please check it out. If you do, I assume you've printed the separation page from the calibration mode. You're supposed to print that page on two different occaision. The first time with the Ink Calibration slider on 100 to determine the max ink load % (Not: "DMax"). The second time, with the IN Calibration slider set to the max ink load %, to determine the relative densities. Where are you in the process? What have you done? What don't you understand? Please refer to the terminology as used by Tom. When I print the Ink Seperation Test Page I get black, light black and 5 color lines. Looking at the DMAX percents of the color lines, the DMAX values are at 90% or so where as the Black and Light Black DMAX values are more like 80% or less. > > Am I to use just the Black and Light Black lines for the % selection or am I to use the color lines as well in selecting a percent value? > > Thanks for the help. > > Bruce > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
