Re: Question regarding ink limits on Epson Exhibition Fiber on a 2200 with OEM UC inks

2009-12-01 by Terry

With my R1800 the PK ink on this paper looks as Black at 55 or 60% as it does at 100% on the Ink Sep Page. This was printed at 2880 & uni-directional ... my density at 55% is 2.11 measured with an X-Rite 810.

It sounds like you are on the right track.

I've printed out the K/LK-only file from the Files section as, if I'm reading Tom Moore's guide correctly, those are the only two inks that I need to worry about since I'm not using quad-tone ink sets. I'm on a Mac, running Mac OS X v10.5.8 and have QTR 2.6.2 installed. I printed the file using Photoshop CS3, no color management (file untagged), QTR calibration mode, calibration limit at 100, paper type set to Photo, 2880 dpi.

The fact that I seem to be hitting full coverage at 55% is giving me pause; the examples given in the guide are in the 80%+ range.

Thankfully Atlex is having a nice sale on the stuff right now, as I've just about burned through an entire box already between Spyder3Print calibration and now printing QTR targets.
