Hello, There are lots of printing/color management options in InDesign. I haven't yet figured out the right combination, but the following should help you troubleshoot or frame your question better. By the way, I'm on CS4. InDesign/Preferences/Appearance of Black/Printing-Exporting (my guess = 'Output All Blacks Accurately'.) Edit/Color Settings/Working Spaces/RGB (I'd assume the QTR profile used in the images.) Edit/Color Settings/Color Management Policies/RGB (either Off, Preserve Embedded Profiles or Convert to Working Space--I'd start with Preserve Embedded Profiles.) Edit/Conversion Options [with 'Advanced Mode' checked]/Engine (no idea which one) Edit/Conversion Options/Intent (my guess = Relative Colorimetric, with 'Use Black Point Compensation' box checked). Print dialog box/Color Management/Print (my guess would be 'Document'); Print dialog box/Color Management/Options/Color Handling ( 'Let InDesign Determine Colors'??). You can see there are lots of mix-n-match options; I finally gave up when I realized I didn't really need ID to achieve what I wanted. Good luck! --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "linhof_camera" <lastoria@...> wrote: > > Hi, > > I am trying to print B&W images using Indesign but I don't get the same blacks as if I were printing through PS. All my B&W images are gamma 2.2 and I use the QTR_Gray_photo_black profile in PS. In Indesign, under color management the document is set to Adobe 1998 and in the print dialog I can only pick color profiles. I did find a QTR RGB & QTR lab profiles which I tried along with Adobe RGB 1998 but they didn't produce any better result. I was hoping someone in the group has experience on how to properly set the Indesign print dialog for B&W images when using QTR curves. Thanks >
