Re: Help with epson 1400, MIS UT14 and Museo Silver Rag

Scott,
I made the Ilford GFS curves. It may well be that your paper requires more ink to reach its dmax. The thing to do is to print the ink separation file using the QTR calibration mode to determine the appropriate ink limits for your paper and inks. Take a look at the documentation that comes with QTR, especially the file Calibration.pdf in the Curve Design folder and the User Guide by Tom Moore, available on the QTR web site.

To be honest, the documentation is not as clear as it might be, and it took me a while to sort it all out.

Good luck,
David

I decided to start with the IGFS curves and remove the linearity values, print step wedges and read with my densitometer to create new linearization values. The initial unlinearized prints do not have a very good dmax. I noticed that the ink limit is set to 32.
