Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Help calibrating epson 1400 with eboni 6 inks

2010-04-03 by Michael King

You've asked a simple question - but unfortunately its not a simple answer.
I think you would benefit reading from the QTR user guide that installs in
the QTR folder or you can download from quadtonerip.com. That explains the
basics of curve creation. You should not really be setting the ink limit
based on a single ink. Once you have got the limits set correctly then you
start density calculation with the darkest ink (which is black) and work
your way towards the lightest ink, irrespective of where they are in your
printer. BUT of course you have to enter the densities in the QTR curve
creation box that relates to position of the cartridge in the printer.

Read the manual and then come back with questions if it doesn't make sense.

Mike

PS in practice I would set all the inks other than darkest @ 60% limit
that's more than enough for a 6/7 ink set up in a 1400. For black you should
measure & set best limit for dmax.
