QTR-Quadtone RIP

Hi, I'd like to experiment with 16 bit QTR printing, specifically to see if it helps reduce subtle posterization in smooth gradients.

16 bit printing is only available with Mac OS, and I am a Windows 7 user. So I am thinking of getting a Mac mini and just using it to print from. But I don't want to get Photoshop for Mac, so I wanted to know if I can print from QTR as a stand alone app on Macs, like I can on PC?

If not what's the cheapest easy way to print 16bit Tiffs from QTR on a Mac?
