Re: Mac OSX 10.6.3 -Epson 1400-Quadtone rip-Photoshop Elements 8 compatibility ?

Hi Coperia,

I have had this configuration (Leopard) for the past year and one-half. Sometimes I get good prints, and sometimes not. I print from Lightroom, but Cone has refused to support anything but full Photoshop. but for good workflow, Lightroom or Aperture is the way to go in my opinion.

I have found the Cone K6 inks have a tendency to clog the print head on the 1400 if left alone for a few weeks. I am far from an expert, but i feel only some of the provided profiles work well. For example, I get poor results with Epson Enhanced Matte, and decent results with HannPhotoRag.

I once bought Piezo inks for a 2200, and the inks clogged the head so bad I had to trash the printer.

Overall, I think the support from Cone on this 1400/CIS/K6 product is disappointing. Mainly because of the Lightroom issue. LR is mainstream postprocessing software and becoming more mainstream with every release. I fell Cone should support their products running with LR.

Please let me know how you make out.

Ken

PS A bit off topic, but I have the Cone CIS color for another Epson 1400. It has been very disappointing, especially with clogging the head. At the present time it is unusable because one position won't unclog no matter how many times I clean and/or flush.
