QTR-Quadtone RIP

With my 4800, I'm now gradually moving to print on roll paper only. For color prints I use Qimage (I'm on PC) to combine several smaller prints on a larger sheet. A crucial feature of the 4800 driver in this is the "save roll paper" option. That allows me to have only one standard sheet size that is typically too large for the set images to print, but the printer just cuts off what has been used by the particular print job. This allows a very simple workflow for a varied combinations of sizes and numbers of prints.

For B&W, I envision to have Qimage print to a TIF file in the QTR monitor folder and have QTR printed it automatically. However, in this B&W workflow I loose the "save roll paper" option as QTR does not support this.

Do I miss something? Is there a workaround (other than manually changing the sheet size for each and every print job)?
