QTR-Quadtone RIP

Can anyone explain .amp and .raw in the profiles folders. I notice that they are not used when just the 3 gray inks are used in a profile but they are used when you have a tones(Sepia, Cool, etc.) Curve. Further why are they designated as TC-Cool.xxx or TC-Cool-HPR.xxx. I realize that the -HPR refers to HanPhotoRag. Why and how do you get there. It is Really confusing and poorly explained. I wish someone would write a tutorial which would explain some of these things.
