Dan:
Thank you for the alert.
I modified your experimental cool curve and I think I
have a good neutral version of it. I tried the
suggestions you made. I then took your curve and
bumped up Black Boost to 100% and changed it so that
it uses only the black inks. This seemed to get me
where I wanted to go --- a good neutral print. Then I
compared this modified Staver profile against several
other alternatives using one image. In my view, the
best results were from the modified Staver profile ---
bumped up Black Boost and all black inks. All I would
think to do is maybe make the shadows +2 on the GUI,
as a +5 setting was too strong for my taste. The
UC-No Black-Neutral profile came the closest to this,
but modifying your profile was still best of about ten
prints I ran off (which included your other
suggestions). It just has that snap that is hard to
describe. I used Ilford Smooth Glossy for all prints
--- the profile works quite well on it.
Thank you so much! More on this later, as I tweak it
a bit, though it is superb as is.

Just added the file 2100-mis-pro in the files section.

It's a couple of cool/neutral curves for Epson Premium
Semigloss and the MIS
PRO inkset with PK and PKN inks. They will probably
work with UC inks as
well.
They're still a work in progress. The shadows are a
little too blue and that
needs to be fixed, but they're all linearized.
