I posted this as a reply to another of my posts, but wasn't specific in pointing out it was a Linearization question, so here is a better description of the query.
I am attempting to create a QTR curve for Epson Premium Semi Gloss paper.
Windows 7
QTR Ver. 2.7
Epson 1290
UT2 inks
Epson Premium Semi Gloss paper
I am using EPremLuster-neutral-3.qidf as a template.
Workflow
1. Opened EPremLuster-neutral-3.qidf in Curve Creation.
2. Cleared Linearization.
3. Saved As EPremSemiGls-neutral-3.qidf.
4. Printed off 21step.tif in Graphical Interface on Semi Gloss paper.
5. After drying, read the patches.
6. Entered the results into Linearization of Curve Creator.
7. Tom Moore's Tutorial then says use the Create Curve button to
create the Linearized version of your curve - there isn't a Create
Curve button, just a Show Curve.
8. In spite of this I Saved the results and expected to see a change
in the Linearization readings in Curve Creator - there was no such
change.
9. I printed 21step.tif with the Linearized readings saved.
10. I re measured the patches and they were different to the non
linearized 21step.tif as shown below:-
None Linearized Linearized
100 2.09 2.10
95 1.97 1.90
90 1.83 1.73
85 1.68 1.55
80 1.54 1.40
75 1.40 1.27
70 1.24 1.15
65 1.09 1.05
60 0.96 0.94
55 0.86 0.84
50 0.75 0.76
45 0.67 0.67
40 0.60 0.59
35 0.54 0.52
30 0.48 0.45
25 0.42 0.38
20 0.35 0.32
15 0.29 0.26
10 0.23 0.20
5 0.16 0.14
0 0.09 0.09
Are these results what I should expect and is the Curve Creator working properly, as this version of QTR is not working as Tom's Tutorial describes.
