I posted this a couple months ago and got no reply, so I am giving it another try - does any one know what is the max MB one can use for a file and print with QTR. Also I would also appreciate any thoughts on dpi and epson printers. I am doing 40x50" images on large sheets of Hahnemuhle etching papers. I have found 240 DPI the minimum DPI to use on a file before I can see the edge start to degrade. I have heard all sorts of things about the true native resolution of an epson printer - that it is really in the range of 360 dpi, I like to do small prints at 720 .. and believe that if I am at 360 for a 40x50" print .. it is not going to get any better. I am trying to avoid resizing either by me or by a ghost in the machine. I have scans that are 240dpi@40x50" 106MB .. and they print without a problem. I have scans at 382dpi @40x50 256 MB .. and they do not print .. I am loath to resize ... as I find each resize gives a slight degradation so I am looking for the may file size for QTR, and if there is a sweet spot for DPI on an epson printer .. I am using a 9800. Again I use an older QTR QTR 2.6 old post: "A couple of times when I tried to print large prints with large files I found ... nothing happened .. after I pressed print. Everything worked fine when I followed up with a smaller print and file size. I am wondering what is the max file sixe I can print with QTR ?? is there a max print size?? I am using an older version of QTR ,, I subscribe to the philosophy of once I get a system to work well .. I use it until something needs to be replaced and then I do it all at once. I also wonder if later versions would allow for a larger print." thanks michael
