Any thoughts?

Any thoughts?

2005-09-19 by lulalake_1999

I was using the older QTR and had finally more or less come to terms
with it, no blending on curves, no tweaking anywhere, using Epson
papers or Moab or a few others. (Epson 2200, epson inks). My prints
were fine, warm but pretty darn good.

I downloaded the new QTR, used the QTR cleaner software to remove all
instances of the old one, loaded the new one and printed, also no
tweaking, same file, same paper and the print came out muddy.

Any thoughts? Does one have to pre-tweak the new one? I'd really like
to use it as it looks a bit better.

Thanks

Jules

So . . no one has had this problem?

The question is sort of vague. I'm sure that's part of the reason there's no
response.

What version are you using - PC or Mac. What version number, before and now?

What do you mean by tweaking? I'm on a PC and I just install and go. I'm
using version 2.3.10. QTR seems to work more or less like it has worked for
months for me, so no, I don't appear to be having your problem.

Thanks for your response Tom,
I'm using a PC, XPPro. By tweaking I mean curve blending, DPI
setting, and the like. When I installed the earlier version I found
what would work, and it worked well. Good prints.
After installing the newest version I set it exactly as I set the
previous version (No blending, 1440 super DPI, proper curve for the
paper) and the print came out fairly awful, muddy, midtone contrast
off, as if I was using the wrong side of the paper or something ( I
wasn't)
I can't figure out what went wrong so I uninstalled the new one, (ran
the "QTR Cleaner" again) reinstalled the old one (2.3.0 I think, I'm
not at my computer at the moment) and it worked perfectly.
I just can't figure out what went wrong with the new one,

Thanks again

Jules
