calibration MAC

2012-09-14 by Lowry Paul

Hello,

I've been using QTR for years at home on a PC, I'm trying to set it up at school in a MAC environment. I think I've got it properly installed, it shows up in the print dialogue box in Photoshop. When I send the inkseparation8 file in calibration mode the printer reacts, begins printing, then ejects the paper without printing. Afterwards we have to reboot the computer and the printer inorder to print anything.

The computers are on a network but the printers are directly connected to the computers. I don't know if its important to mention, computers are mac pros running 10.5. Photoshop is CS4.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you

Ive had this same problem with 10.5.8 and cs4 when trying to print the
inkseperation file from calibration mode. It was just spitting out the
page. I had to get a windows box to print the bloody file in the end as I
needed to profile my printer. Hope someone has the explanation. I tried
alot of times and just couldn't get it to work. Sorry but I'm glad to hear
someone else has had the same experience as me.

Please help us!!!

Are you suggesting that the problem might be unique to the OS 10.5.8. and CS4 combination? . Did you ever get a chance to test it through CS3 or CS5?

OK that was it thank you,

I have just successfully printed the inkseparation file from exactly the same station, using CS3, the only variable I removed was CS4. Apparently CS4 is not colour managable on a MAC without a small adobe uitlity created to fix the problem that allows for same as source printing. But this would be well known to MAC users.

Thank you, Raph Cross for pointing me in the right direction, I never would have solved this otherwise.
