basic Q&A for a newbie

I have discovered, read about, and successfullty installed QTR in the last few hours. Running Win7, Lightroom 4, and using an Epson Stylus Photo R300 (not 3000). 1) In reading the names for "Printing Model" I find models named QuadR300-K6 and QuadR300-GQ. What do the K6 and GQ mean? 2) QTR doesn't *require* any special inks does it? I may get there later, but I want stick with OEM Epson inks to try one thing at a time...
