When that happens to me, it just means the black channel is not printing.
Are you getting a black band?

Oh - You're right. The black ink isn't printing. I'm getting only 7 step-wedges. 

The 3880 printer has 7 inks, plus either Matte or Photo black - and neither of those is printing.

Have I chosen an invalid option ? I have placed a screen-capture image here: http://www.kenleegallery.com/images/carbon/KenLeeQTR.png

I don't think you have any bad settings, but I am not familiar with how to choose
matte or photo black on the 3880.

Thank you very much. I ran some cleaning cycles and now I get the black ink.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
