QTR-Quadtone RIP

Trying to help a friend troubleshoot this... 
Epson 4800-
Color prints normally
ABW prints "normally"
QTR suddenly prints way too light, same file same settings as before. All other files, grad, tests, also way too light. Nothing apparent has changed, no software updates.. printer nozzles fine... various QTR curves tried, both supplied and custom, all with the same result, way too light.

Attempts so far-
print with and with out profile in Adobe printing path, preconvert and print without Adobe in that path (printer manages color).
Reinstalled QTR

I realize this is hard to nail down on a forum, but if by coincidence someone else has had the same experience.. a shot in the dark.

Have you checked your monitor profile?
