QTR-Quadtone RIP

I am printing from a MAC OSX 10.8.5 Using the print tool and a QTR curve for a digital negative. I am using Pictorico ULTRA film. When printing to a Quad 3880 (UCpk) the negative has no banding or printing artifacts. When printing to a QuadR3000, the negative has banding along the leading edge of the pictorico and the trailing edge of the pictorico. The banding does disappear in the middle of the page.
I stymied as the R3000 printing both color and B&W perfectly on pictorico. Any thoughts about what might be going a miss?

I have the same problem when printing with Print Tool and the R3000, with Lion. Essentially the first inch or so at the bottom and top of a page of Pictorico can not be used because of the banding. I have used the same Print Tool with other Epson printers (7800, 3800 and 3880) and did not have this problem.

The only solution I have been able to come up with is to size the image so that the top 1.5" and bottom 1.5" is not used.
