Soft looking printouts

Hi All, I have 2 printouts: one of them is printed from Photoshop using a custom built profile the other one is printed from QTR. The one printed from QTR is much softer that the other. Basically, 7 inks vs 2 inks - is that a normal result for QTR printed image with only 2 inks? I think so but wanted to confirm with the others. Thanks, Igor.
