Quadtone Rip print setting.

Quadtone Rip print setting.

2016-04-14 by mattbaily@...

Hi all,

Being early days in my adventures with Quadtone rip, I have plenty of questions. When printing from Photoshop CC (Mac OSX) do I set the following to these values in the print settings dialog?

Color Handling: Photoshop Manages Colors

Printer Profile: QTR_RGB_Matte_Paper (I am printing on matte paper)

Send 16-bit Data: yes

Rendering Intent: I left it on Relative Colorimetric but is Perceptual better?

Black Point Compensation: yes

Under Printer Settings I set:

I select 16 bit, my paper curve, and the various quality settings.

I suppose my main question is:

Should I use Photoshop for color handling like I have set above, or should I specify that printer manages color and select QuadToneRip within Printer Settings > Color Matching? Can any one give an explanation of best practice here?

Thanks,

Matt
