I recently bought a new Mac computer, switching from Yosemite to El Capitan. Now, when I am printing to my Quad4900, the prints are coming out posterized. Everything was working fine before, and still is, when I use the older computer.
Nozzle checks are perfect. The same problem is occurring with Lightroom and Print Tool, so it seems it must be a system level problem.
Any ideas?

Roy,I copied the same curves to both machines. Also did an UNINSTALL and reinstall on the El Cap machine. These Eboni 4K curves have worked beautifully on the Yosemite machine for months. We linearized them with Richard's Gray Curve spreadsheet, they were nearly flawless.Lightroom and Print Tool both work perfectly on the Yosemite Mac. With the exact same curves, neither of them work on the El Cap Mac. I have the correct ink set. Perfect nozzle check. Thanks for your help,Parker

Something that you think you did, didn't happen. I can't know what & why without you going through it all and actually showing what you are doing.Start from the beginning and do it once more. Odds are that'll just work.

ElCap works perfectly. Been using it for a half year now. No problems. This is most likely a permissions issue or a curve issue or some other corruption. Re-installing will not always fix issues. Delete all your Quad printers in system preferences and then running this command in terminal before re-installing. It generally will fix things: 1. Delete printers. 2. run this in terminal: sudo rm -R /Library/Printers/QTR 3. Then restart. This will refresh the CUPS cache. 4. Then re-install QTR and your printers. 5. This will be a true butterfly-new install and should work. If it doesn’t work than you have an issue with the curve or printer or your inks in your printer. best, Walker > >

Reading the QTR documentation it mentions a few files I can not find. >Quad Curve Descriptor File The first type of file is the actually curve descriptor file that get installed in the printer drivers. These files have a complete mapping of how much of each separate ink is used for each possible grayscale value. They are in special folders in the system. Where are these special folders? I know there are examples in the ExampleInks folder, but where are the ones being used? The CurveDropBox contains a folder for each printer on your system that has QuadTone capabilities. The curve descriptors for a particular printer are within the respective folder. All have names ending in ".quad" and are called Quad Curve Files. For those interested in the internal workings, the Curve-Info file has a detailed explanation of these files Where is the Curve-Info file? Thanks, Mark stillrivereditions.com
