Scanner

I am using an Epson 750 with fluid mount. Resolution is important in a scan, but so is density range. For its price, the Epson is a good choice. One can scan up to 8x10 negatives at a good resolution, and density range. I have made 16x20 prints that are as good, if not better then a wet print using the best Schneider lenses on properly aligned enlargers..... I also have an ICS drum scanner. I don't think it is in your price range though. Plus it take a lot of time to get a scan. Plus the scanning supplies are costly. Like you, I needed to get away from the chemicals. I loved the time I spent in the darkroom and the art of making a good print, but the effects of the chemicals on my health took their toll!
