Bronzing is an issue with the UC inks. There's really nothing you can
do in the RIP or print driver to address it. Your choices are to spray
the prints, switch your black and light black (the new MIS "pro" inks
for the 2200 are supposed to have greatly reduced bronzing), or mix a
third party "glop" (gloss optimizer) with your inks. That's the
approach I use, I load a cart with MIS GLOP and put it in the yellow
position. Print a yellow page to clear any remaining yellow ink out of
the printer, and use a QTR curve that mixes glop with the tones that
cuase the most trouble (about the first 30% of the tonal range for UC).

That's a common complaint. It's hard to get the DMAX much past 1.7 on
matte or watercolor paper, while you can get up to aroud 2.1 on a
gloss or luster. (if you're not familiar with dmax, the difference
between 1.7 and 2.1 is substantial, 2.1 looks about twice as "deep" as
1.7).
There really isn't a solution. Some paper and ink combinations get an
additional 0.1 dmax, but it's hard to see that. Paper texture can
enhance apparent deepness of the blacks, try printing on Epson's
"velvet fine art" paper. The blacks may not measure out as having much
greater dmax, but they look deeper.
