Print Tool have a limit on print size?

Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Print Tool have a limit on print size?

Because PrintTool rips to PDF, I’ve done nearly 20 feet on the 11880. There is the issue of having enough ram. I think the only way for me to do it was to have 32gb of ram as I recall.

Best,
Walker

Well I have that but also have the extra hard drive installed in the P9000. So should work?

As mentioned there are no hard limits but a couple things are worth doing to keep memory usage down.

1) convert to grayscale if in RGB (assuming B&W printing)
2) do any color management in PS so you can print No Color Mgmt in Print-Tool
3) convert to 8-bit from 16-bit (you will not loose anything with this)
4) rotate image so you are printing 44 width by 20feet height (i.e. use portrait not landscape)

All these will lessen the memory requirement.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
