Epson 4880 Remove paper

Hi,
While trying to do a nozzle check on a 4880, I keep getting this error "Remove Paper" even though there is no paper in the prints. Nothing clogged? Any ideas?

I remember having that problem on my 4880. A complete shutdown and restart cleared it. But, as I recall it didn't work the first time. So, I opened and closed the release several times along with shutting down and restarting. Eventually, it cleared. I don't know if something was failing or some dirt was covering a sensor. I'm sorry I don't have a definite answer for you.
