This may be a good place to move QTR questions:

LuLa seems to have enough traffic to survive for a while.

I asked the same question some time ago... groups.io could be an option; in fact anything but FB would be woderful (for me) as I don't have an account there.

The free option of group.io has a limit of 1GB/year; any idea how much are we using right now?

Apparently group.io can "automagically" migrate the data from Yahoo Groups.

Yes, groups.io <http://groups.io/> is run by the previous creator of Yahoo groups. It’s a very easy transfer and I highly suggest it for straight list-serve to list-serve transition.

We have about 80 hours until this forum gets closed. Roy Harrington (creator of QTR) is the MOD on this group and I’m sure he’s aware.

Best,
Walker

There has been a transfer fee since February of $110, IIRC.

They seem to have a backlog of transfers, and they’re now trying to get people to pay $200 to expedite the transfer. :-( I’ve been waiting on the Nikon_D-SLR group to move since Monday morning. It also took a couple days prior to that to get things lined up with the transfer account.

Re: the clock is ticking - usefulness of this group on yahoo and its content are about to be vaporized

Sorry about the silence -- I've been out of the country for quite a while and just got back.
I didn't start this group but was later added as an owner so I guess I'm "it".
I've heard lots of people seem to like groups.io so I'll be investigating and setting this up.
It's sounding like transfer of archive is going to be a challenge with all the other groups
doing the same thing.

If anybody has experience in this any advice is welcome.

Thanks
Roy

Hopefully the archives with transfer without too much trouble or time.

If anyone has experience in all this advice is welcome.

Thanks

Roy, there is some cost involved in the migration which I don't think you should have to bear alone. I would be willing to help out with a contribution.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
