New to QTR and need help

Ok,

I am on a PC and I just DL the newest version. When I went to the
turtorial to read how to create a profile for the paper I am using and
ink ( Epson Luster and UC inks ) the PDF file does not have all the
info in it and cuts out at page 17 but the header list the appendix
and etc up to page 32 that explains all the settings for the file you
configure and what each items means. At leat I assume.

Where can I find a complete document.

Also when I try to create the profile it lays out so much ink it is
crazy, just gobs of it on the paper. I have never had this problem
before.  Please advise.

The LINEARIZE was created using a densitometer. If anyone can help
that woudl be awesome. The 21 step wedge with this is comignout
magenta big time.

Before I set yellow to 0 it was horrible adn again globs of ink on the
paper.

I also have no idea what this means either as the documentation does
not explain it so I jsut put in some numbers that the doc say it was
neutral,

GRAY_HIGHLIGHT=4
GRAY_SHADOW=8
#GRAY_OVERLAP=10

Here is my file;

Looks like your ink limits are too high. I think the default limit for
the 7600 should be about 50 and the light ink limits correspondingly
lower. Also, in your linearization line the dmax 3.50 is extraordinary
(2.5 would be more likely).

How do you know what you fist value is suppose to be?

I read the turtorial and it wasnt very helpful.

For example;

QUOTE
Figure 1 is an example of the ink test on an Epson 2200 with Epson
UltraChrome inks. With a loupe or a densitometer you look for a patch
  where it appears that all the paper is covered with ink. In this
particular case it is at about 85% on each ink. There is a very
gradual increase in density after this level but when adding inks
together we don't want to overload too much. For this example I picked
85% for the basic ink limit.
END

I have a densitometer and waht value am I lookign for in the initial
run? How do you tell when the paper is covered in ink???

This is confusing.

Thank you,

Kev

Measure the density of the patches in the K strip and you should find
that beyond a certain point (perhaps around 50% for the 7600) the
density values level off or only slightly increase. Choose the patch
at the point where the density curve starts to flatten.
