I agree, an 810 is a joy. Better than my old x-rite 414.
Don't worry too much about the plate if the deal is good. According to
X-rite, the plates are only good for 2 years or 18 months, depending
on whether they're ceramic or cardboard. Although I've always wondered
how much one really fades in that time.
