inkseparation print does not contain black

inkseparation print does not contain black

2006-01-15 by Piet Weber

Hi,

I have been trying to print the inkseparation pattern for a new paper/ink-combination on
my 2100. I do get the colored ink printed, but not the black wedge and text. I have done
paper calibration in the past, and very succesfully. I have upgraded from OSX 10.3 to 10.4
recently, and installed the newest QTR package. Could this cause a problem, or am I just
forgetting something crucual. I printed the descriptor file below. Could anyone tell me
what I am doing wrong? I could not find any discussion on this group regarding this
problem.

Cheers, Piet

Sounds like your black cartridge isn't printing. Have you tried a nozzle
check?

Colorprints trough the Epson driver are ok. QTR print using existing curves are also
working good. It is not a hardware-problem. Something goes wrong in the calibration
procedure.

RE: [QuadtoneRIP] Re: inkseparation print does not contain black

2006-01-15 by Daniel Staver

It could be that you're using GRAY_VAL_2=100. Have you tried a smaller value
here? It's supposed to be the density of LK as a percentage of K, usually
much less than 100.
