NEW Crane Silver Rag / 1280 / UT-2 / QTR??

2006-01-18 by pahtspix

Hello group..

I understand it may be pre-mature, but if any of you have been
doing "beta testing" on CRANE SILVER RAG with an EPSON 1280 /MIS UT-
2 /QTR ala Harrington, I'd appreciate any of your findings so far..I
just recieved a few sheets of this new paper, and will be looking
for "starting point settings" once I replenish my lite magenta position
ink..( With apologies, this has been cross-posted to "digital black and
white the group."

TIA,

Eddie Wiseman

OK...I'll reply to my OWN message!..

I just finished creating a few prints with this new CRANE SILVER
RAG
with MIS UT-2 inks and I'm really IMPRESSED!..I'm using QTR with the
settings on "Premium Lustre Photo Paper", "1440 super" resolution,
speed "Better", Dither "Ordered", Using EPremium Lustre-Neutral-3 (no
blend), and EPremium Lustre 50% blend with Carbon-3...Ink limit (20),
Gamma at (-5)...GREAT d-Max, Nice finish, good tone separation..I
would
prfer the gloss slightly less, but it would not be a "deal killer"..I
noticed some excessive paper curl, but I'm told that that appears
only
on the beta test paper, and will go away once it hits production..

I LIKE IT!..Now how much is it going to cost in 8.5x11, 11x17, and
13x19??

printer list 880 & 1160 with mis pigment inks

2006-01-20 by Shawn Coggins

finally got my 4000 running smoothly with QuadRIP
started looking around and found a 1160 with mis
pigment bulk ink
and a couple of 880 printers
I'm assuming that it would be fairly straigforward on
the 1160 to just reprofile
but what about the 880 it isn't on the list of
supported printers?

I'll eventually switch the 1160 over to b&w inks after
I use up about 3 oz of bulk pigment ink,
but would really like to also set up the 880's with
bulk ink and k4

any thoughts

really like the flexability that QuadRIP provides

thanks

Shawn
