Curve Creation

Curve Creation

2006-02-17 by john dean

I am trying to make custom linearized curves for K6 on the 7000.

I printed and measured the grey scale correctly for a couple of rag
papers. I was able to make the linearization graph correctly. From
this documentation, at this point in the process, I am not able to
figure out how to create the actual curve for use.

When I drag this graph of linearized data into the Drop Graph icon it
tells me - "Curve Design" cann't be modified.

When I try to drag this graph into the Drop Quad Profile icon it tells
me - Printer Not Defined.

Anyone been through this process? Where does the graph go? What am I
doing wrong?

John

Hi John.
Are you using a pc?

Regards.

Hi John,

The Linearize program puts up the graph page and the line:
LINEARIZE=" .... "
copy/paste this whole line into the profile file.

If you use the Drop-Quad-Profile program you need to have a
a PRINTER= statement in the profile. Like:
PRINTER=Quad7000-NK6

The other way is to use the Install7000-NK6 script which supplies
the printer name info. To do this just put the install script and all
the profiles into a folder and double-click the script.

No, I am on a Mac OSX.4.5 (Tiger).

I assume this functions the same on both platforms. My workflow is not
right.
