Failure to print using Epson 2200 (WindowsXPpro)

Failure to print using Epson 2200 (WindowsXPpro)

2006-04-12 by mohonk1986

Gray scale image spools normally to 2200 but printer puhes paper
through without printing. In the Graphical Interface the image appears
in the "print" window and as C:\My documents\My Pictures\Name of
pix.tif. (I checked cartridges and printer with other drivers, no
problem there). I use Photoshop CS2. "page setup" shows the 2200
printer but not the Quatone driver - I do not know if that is supposed
to appear there. I use matte paper, 1400dpi, correct paper size. What
could I be doing wrong? Thank you for any help you can offer. It is
very much appreciated.

You work up your image in Photoshop, save that image and then print it
with QTR outside of Photoshop. I hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your kindness. I use PS and save the image as gray scale with .tif - it spools to printer but doesn't print - as if my QTR isn't in the right place to act as the driver. Any further suggestions would be very much appreciated. Joachim

Joachim

It sounds like you are simply saving the tif file from photoshop. That will
not cause the image to be printed. QTR is a separate application that is
used to print files. You have to run QTR, configure its settings, select the
file to be printed and click on the print button in QTR. It does not operate
as a driver accessible to PS CS2. See pages 6 through 10 of the User Guide
for help on configuring QTR and printing files.

Thank you very much. I had tried to print keeping PSC2 open with the desired
image. Once I closed it and selected the image through QuadtoneRIP it worked
nicely. I appreciate your alerting me to an obvious I had missed. Joachim
