Profiling 4800 for Museo Paper

I'm working of a profile for the new Crane Museo Silver Rag paper, and as this is my first attempt at this, I have a few questions... When I measure the Ink Pattern steps, I get a measurable increase in density all the way out to 100% on the Black level, but the visual increase after about 85% is very small at most, or possibly insignificant. 85% is at 2.33 and 100% is at 2.48 with about .04 increase for each step. Is there a benefit to setting the default ink limit at 85%? It will result in different curves I'm sure, but if I set it to 100%, then the black boost will be meaningless if I understand the driver operation correctly. One other thing I've noticed is that the Ink pattern page when printed at the 85% setting shows a slightly more pronounced 'grit' in some of the steps of most of the colors, but most importantly, in the black around the 50% to about 85% levels that is not apparent in the 100% printout. The problem is that the L Black tops out at about 52.5% of Black in the 85% setting, and there is a bit of grit visible in steps higher than that in the Black ink. Looking at the 100% printout, the L Black tops out at about 50% of the Black, but above that level, the Black shows much less pronounced grit in the levels, so this seems to be encouraging me to use the 100% setting for the default ink limit. Any suggestions on the best course of action? ---Michael
